Lambing Season 2021

Part I of lambing season…some things we learned and of course cute pictures!
We’re back! With exciting updates and an exciting year ahead. See our livestock guardian dog puppies, lambs, and new horse additions.
August means back to school, but this year looks a little different. It has been a learning curve and nothing like having the kids in person, but we are finding a new normal!
We spent a week seeing Montana by horseback, with some really great people! We had the time of our lives and have high hopes for going back!
This post is full of many different ideas and updates including why we take soil samples, how the garden is doing, riding our adopted mustang, our official brand, AND…do you doomsday prep?!
My current reflections in my horsemanship journey!
Our deworming protocol and some great shots of Bryson holding sheep so I can trim feet.
We researched which guardian animal would fit our farm, and decided on dogs…two instead of one. Here is why!
This week I restored my cast iron skillet (and shared how) so I could cook all the things. Well, mostly my favorite veggie omelet! Recipe included!
See our composting plan and why we are excited about the possibilities for our garden in the future!
This week is about why you should have a herd health check for your sheep and my adventures as a rookie sourdough bread baker.
We added even more fence this week, got our first small load of hay, and are problem solving our garden nutrient deficiencies and egg-eating chickens.
We did a complete soil makeover for (almost) free! See how we went from terrible red clay to real topsoil on a very tight budget.
This week at the Three 10s we focused on pasture management. While some people have trouble managing too little grass, we have plenty! See what we are doing to combat obesity in our herds.
